The Boyne Forever Foundation (also referred to as “Boyne Forever,” “we,” or “us”) is a nonprofit organization established by Boyne Resorts to support initiatives that preserve and enhance outdoor landscapes, promote environmental sustainability, and strengthen community well-being for future generations. We are based in and do business in Michigan.
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information about you or your household. This Policy also describes the privacy rights and choices you may have, depending on your state of residence, concerning your personal information. This includes all interactions, including with our website Boyneforever.org. Our Privacy Policy can be downloaded here.
As a nonprofit organization, we are exempt from certain state data privacy laws, and given our size and constituencies, are exempt from other states’ laws, but we provide the information in this Policy, including the U.S. State Privacy Notice below, to inform you of our practices. Depending on your interaction with us, we may supplement this with additional privacy notices or disclosures.
Who Does This Policy Cover?
This Policy covers personal information we collect from you, whether online or offline. We collect this information when you visit our website or our other online presence (collectively, the “Services”), make donations, attend our events, or otherwise interact with us. In some cases, we may provide different or additional policies or notices about our information practices. Boyne Forever may post updated versions of this Policy from time to time. Changes to this policy will be reflected by revision dates. If we have your contact information, we may contact you by email. We encourage you to review this Policy regularly to stay informed about our information practices and the choices available to you.
What Personal Information Do We Collect?
Information You Provide to Us
We collect information you provide directly to us via online or offline activities. For example, we collect certain personal information when you make a donation, register for an event, sign up for a mailing list, provide information about grantees or potential grantees, participate in our surveys, engage with us on social media platforms (liking, messaging, posting, etc.), and when you communicate with us via email, phone, or mail.
Depending on the context, we may collect your name, address, phone number, email address, ZIP code, donation information, event registration information, social media identifiers, gender, information about your interests and preferences related to Boyne Forever, whether you are a Boyne Resorts employee, and any other information you choose to provide. The information you expressly provide to us will be reflected on our form and the information you fill in, what you tell us on the phone, or what you email or mail us.
In some cases, we may also collect information you provide about others, such as when you provide information about your family or make a donation to commemorate a person or event.

Information do We Collect from Third Parties
We may also receive personal information about you from other sources, such as from our affiliates (including Boyne Resorts), service providers, business partners, public databases, social media platforms, and other third parties. For example, if you interact with us on social media or choose to connect your social media account to our Services, we may receive information from the relevant social media platform per your settings on that platform.
How Do We Use Personal Information?
- At a general level, we use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and improve our Services;
- To process your donations and event registrations;
- To communicate with you, including sending you updates, newsletters, and marketing communications;
- To respond to your comments, questions, and requests and provide support;

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We also do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

- Marketing Communications: You can opt out of our marketing email campaigns by following the unsubscribe instructions in those emails or by contacting us as described below. This does not affect notifications you may receive related to transactions or business with us.

Please note that if you see one of our advertisements, it may be the product of our purchasing online advertising -- and not the product of our data collection.
- Do Not Track Signals: Some browsers transmit Do Not Track (“DNT”) signals. We do not currently respond to DNT signals.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as we need it to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When we no longer need your personal information, we will securely delete or de-identify it.

We take commercially reasonable measures to help protect your personal information from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of our systems.

Our Services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our Services are hosted in the United States. If you are accessing our Services from outside the United States, please be aware that your country’s data privacy laws may not apply, and your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where our servers are located.
