Frequently Asked Questions

The Boyne Forever Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) public charity created to amplify the positive impact of Boyne Resorts across the communities where we operate. Through three pillars—Our Environment, Our Community, and Our Team—we support nonprofit organizations, conservation efforts, community initiatives, and Boyne team members through strategic philanthropy.

The Foundation is inspired by Boyne Resorts’ heritage and legacy of stewardship and community investment dating back to Everett Kircher’s original vision. While the Foundation carries the Boyne name, it operates as a separate, independent nonprofit organization with its own Board of Directors and governance.

The Foundation is a legally independent nonprofit organization with its own Board, policies, and decision-making authority. It collaborates closely with Boyne Resorts but operates independently.

No. One hundred percent of donations to the Boyne Forever Foundation are used exclusively to advance the Foundation’s charitable mission. Boyne Resorts does not receive any portion of donated funds.

Funding comes from individual donations, grants, corporate partners, events, in-kind contributions, and other philanthropic support. Donations may be made by guests, partners, and supporters across the communities where Boyne Resorts operates.

Annual fundraising totals vary as the Foundation grows. Each year, the Board approves an annual grantmaking budget based on funds raised, strategic priorities, and community need. Impact and financial results are shared through annual reporting.

The Foundation aims for equitable impact, not equal dollar amounts. Funding decisions are based on community needs, program alignment, and available resources across all Boyne communities.

All grants follow a formal application, review, and approval process aligned with the Foundation’s three pillars. Applications are reviewed by advisory councils, with final approvals following Board-approved thresholds.

The Foundation’s first public grant cycle will open in April. Application guidelines, eligibility, and timelines will be published on the Foundation’s website and announced widely.

All grant applications are submitted through the Boyne Forever Foundation’s online grant portal. The portal will open with the Foundation’s first public grant cycle in April and will include eligibility guidelines, application instructions, deadlines, and required materials. Applications submitted outside of the portal cannot be accepted.
