The Boyne Forever Foundation is guided by a board of directors and Giving Council, ensuring that every dollar we invest is used responsibly, transparently, and in alignment with our mission and core values. The Giving Council is a group of 12 team members from across all of our resorts, who bring deep knowledge of the communities, landscapes, and people we serve. Their expertise helps us making grant making decisions.

  • Boyne Forever Foundation Executive Director, Michelle Wein

    Michelle Wein

    Executive Director

    Michelle leads the Boyne Forever Foundation, guiding its mission to support the unique character and vitality of Boyne Resorts through thoughtful philanthropy and legacy giving. She brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, workforce research, and community development across nonprofit, government and private sectors in Michigan and Washington, D.C. A lifelong Boyne Mountain enthusiast and member of the National Ski Patrol, Michelle has a deep personal connection to the resort and its community. She holds a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s in Economics and Mathematics with Honors from the University of Michigan.

    Liz Rasmussen

    Executive Assistant

    Liz Rasmussen serves as Executive Assistant for the Boyne Forever Foundation, providing strategic and operational support to Foundation leadership and helping manage in-kind giving and community partnerships across Boyne Resorts. She brings more than 10 years of experience in nonprofit operations, executive support, and project management, with a passion for building relationships and creating meaningful community impact. A Pacific Northwest native, Liz has a special connection to Boyne through her home resort, The Summit at Snoqualmie. She holds a Master of Arts in Communication and Leadership from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and History from Central Washington University.

    Laurel Book

    Digital Media Assistant

    Laurel supports the Boyne Forever Foundation's digital communications, helping bring our mission to life through engaging storytelling, social media, and content creation. She brings firsthand experience from Boyne Mountain as both a Snowboard Patroller and Instructor, along with a background in healthcare as an Emergency Room Technician. Laurel earned her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Sciences from Grand Valley State University.

Stephen Kircher

Stephen Kircher serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Boyne Resorts, operating 13 mountain and lakeside resorts across the continent. Since joining the family business full-time in 1988, he has transformed the company from his father's original $1 investment in 1948 into North America’s largest family-run, four-season resort company and third-largest mountain resort operator. His deep commitment to the industry is reflected in his board leadership for the National Ski Areas Association and U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame. A passionate outdoor enthusiast who enjoys skiing, snowboarding, golf, sailing, and travel, Stephen divides his time between Northern Michigan, Big Sky, Montana, and New York City with his wife Molly and their four children.

Barbara Rowley

Barbara Rowley is a journalist and a community builder, bringing both skills together to help create the vibrant town of Big Sky, Montana over the last three and a half decade where she has been a key player in creating camps, parks, trails, and educational opportunities and improvements. She holds degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and Northwestern.

Randy Doyle

Randy Doyle is the retired General Manager of Brighton Resort, where he led operations and guest experiences at one of Utah’s premier ski destinations. He also served as Board President of the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation, advancing the organization’s mission to promote environmental education and stewardship in the Wasatch Mountains. With decades of leadership in the outdoor recreation industry, Randy has been a dedicated advocate for both mountain communities and the natural landscapes that sustain them.
